Your chance to shape the future of our fibre network

Last year, we asked whether our stakeholders and consumers were interested in our future fibre plans and how you’d like to be brought along our journey as we develop our plans.
As a result of that initial feedback, we’re seeking your views again. Please share your thoughts with us by taking our survey that can be found here.
We know Kiwi homes, schools and businesses rely on broadband more than ever and we want your input to help shape up our investment plans in the immediate future and going forward. Responses to this survey will help inform our network investment plans from 2025 (our second regulatory period) and our funding proposal for customer incentives expenditure.
We want more New Zealanders to benefit from the investments made in ultra-fast fibre broadband and to participate in our increasingly digital world. The survey results will help us understand:
- What are the potential barriers for you or your customers in securing a fibre connection?
- Is energy efficiency an important factor in choosing to use fibre? What more could we do to support sustainability across our services?
- Some communities are unable to access the benefits of connectivity and our fibre network due to lack of skills, confidence, access to appropriate devices, or being able to afford a connection. What more could we be doing to help New Zealand achieve digital inclusion?
- While fibre is reliable, rare events such as storms, landslides and accidental digging/roadworks can impact the resilience of our network by causing an outage. How important is the reliability of your broadband?
This online survey is currently live and closes next Friday 20 May so time is of the essence to provide feedback. We really want to hear from you! Also, if you’d like to stay updated about our regulatory proposal process please sign up to our blog and visit our website here.
